Pharmacy Residency Program

Director’s Letter

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in Catholic Health. We are an ever evolving, compassionate, faith based health care system based in Western New York. Our first PGY1 pharmacy program was developed at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo in 2014 where we took two residents, and we have been growing ever since.

Having multiple programs across different hospitals allows the residents to leverage additional educational opportunities, and to ensure these opportunities are provided by qualified preceptors who are familiar with the expectations of residents. Additionally, our programs are affiliated with D’Youville School of Pharmacy, ensuring we have a high quality teaching certificate program, and opportunities for experiences in academia.

I am a strong believer in tailoring a program to fit the resident’s interests, as each resident is unique. Being a part of Catholic Health affords us many opportunities to do this, especially considering the vast number of services provided throughout our 5 acute care sites and multiple hospital affiliated clinics.

Again, thank you for your interest in Catholic Health, and our pharmacy residency programs. Please take a look at our programs and feel free to contact us with any questions.
