U.S. News & World Report, a trusted leader in healthcare rankings and consumer advice, has named Catholic Health’s Father Baker Manor in Orchard Park, McAuley Residence in Tonawanda, and Mercy Nursing Facility in Lackawanna to its 2024 list of “Best Nursing Homes.” Father Baker Manor was also recognized by Newsweek, which ranks the nation’s best nursing homes with 100 or more beds.

“These independent reviews, coupled with the Medicare star ratings our nursing homes receive, exemplify the high quality, compassionate care our facilities are known for,” said Tom Gleason, Catholic Health Senior Vice President of Home & Community Based Care. “I’d like to thank all our associates, at the bedside and behind-the-scenes, for helping our facilities achieve these national recognitions and, more importantly, for the exceptional care and service they provide our patients, residents, and their families.”

Since 2009, U.S. News’ annual Best Nursing Homes ratings have helped consumers and their families decide where to go to receive quality rehabilitation and nursing home care. The 2024 edition of Best Nursing Homes features ratings of more than 15,000 nursing homes, evaluated on patient and resident outcomes, such as infection rates; staffing levels; health inspection results; and other indicators of quality.

“U.S. News’ Best Nursing Homes ratings give patients, senior residents, their families and caregivers an objective assessment of quality, to help them choose the facility that best fits their individual needs,” said Daniel Lara Agudelo, health data analyst at U.S. News. “Nursing homes that have earned the recognition of U.S. News have a track record of achieving better outcomes for patients and residents, and maximizing the amount of care they receive from nurses and other staff.”
