Sisters of Charity Hospital is Buffalo’s first hospital, established in 1848, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

Mercy Hospital of Buffalo

Some rotations occur at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, also located in Buffalo, NY.

These rotations include, but are not limited to, Internal Medicine and Cardiac Care Unit (CCU).

Mercy Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission and has received numerous awards and recognitions.

Primary Care of Western New York

For Family Medicine Residents, the outpatient continuity clinic that begins in the PGY-1 year takes place at Primary Care of Western New York (PCWNY). PCWNY has five locations. Residents have the opportunity to see patients at three of these locations, each serving slightly differing patient populations.

PGY-1 residents have one clinic shift per week, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

PGY-2 and PGY-3 residents have 3-4 clinic shifts per week. Generally, one shift is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., then 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the same day. The other shifts are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on two different days.
